Laterna magika presents: Jakub Nepraš: Cultures |
| Seemingly unknown organisms in biological "cultures" are, when examined more closely, full of microscopic life. As in society and natural systems, here too we can observe the superiority of the central part and sap that ensure the input of nutrients, the metabolism and the global market and communications between organs. The artist is a recent graduate of the Academy of fine arts in Prague. He received the main prize Premio Euromobil2007 for his work at the fair in Bologna and later was awarded the Essl Award for young artists of Central Europe. The project emerged in collaboration between the Laterna magika and the gallery Vernon. The screening of the video-painting "Cultures" can be seen evenings and nights...     |

30 WONDERFUL YEARS |
| The Magical Circus show premiered on April 15, 1977. It is Laterna Magika?s most successful show in terms of the number of repeat performances. It overcame the limit of five thousand repeat performances during its guest appearance in Madrid in 2001. The 30th anniversary of its premiere will mark the respectable figure of 5719 repeat performances, which places it among the most played shows in Europe and nears the number of repeat performances of the most famous Broadway musicals. Over the past 30 years, more than twenty different casts appeared in the leading roles of the Merry and Sad Clowns, Seducers, Venuses, as well as a total of 85 male and female dancers. In generational terms, these people represent individuals born between 1935 and 1984. The Magical Circus has been on more than thirty foreign tours in 16 countries around the world. The Magical Circus ...is its wonderful endurance a coincidence or a matter of course? If it?s not a miracle, than it?s a lucky constellation of creativity: A unique, harmonious and impressive combination of humor, poetry and the truth of life with a powerful internal charge of humanity.
